I just got logitech 5.1's on sale for 29 bucks hehe. I used to have 4.1's and loved them. these new speakers kick ass.

the only problem is.. the center speaker doesnt work with anything Windows media, foobar, winamp

It does however work when i do the Test speakers. i hear it say center speaker..

i have a sb live card everything is set right but nothing comes through it when playing music or movies

Make sure whatever media player you are using has 5.1 surround enabled.

It's hard to make '5.1' audio from two channel sound. Most of the time desktop stuff is simply doubled to make it play on 4/5 satellites. There are plugins however that will mix audio to 5.1 channels but it's not really necessary (or in most cases desired) to do so.

That said, you should try to make sure that 5.1 is working for dvd's and games which is their real purpose to begin with.

foobar is setup for 5.1 so was winamp doesnt work. Ill try to mess around with WMP

Go to your aduio settings in your control panel and make sure 5.1 is selected. Then make sure your media player is set on 5.1 surround. Then verify that your media is capable of playing in surround sound. If your just playing mp3's its not surround, its stereo. If your playing a DVD, select DTS surround sound in the root menu.

If nothing works, looks like you got your system on 4.1 set up.

try downloading foo_channel_mixer and set it up for 6-channel audio. (0.8.3 for now, will be compiled for 0.9 when it goes final)

got it all setup and i can select speakers with foobar but center makes no noise
