4x15k RAID0 vs single sandforce ssd

So I currently have an Adaptec 5805 SAS controller with 4x15k sas drives in raid0 for my workstation at work. I was able to snag a Corsair Force 240GB SSD to "test". Below are some benchies.

My question is: which one is better??

Based on the two benchmarks, should I move on from my SAS raid array and just use a single SSD??

Do you edit movies? Do you work with extremely large files (1.5+Gb in size)? Do you render stuff?

If yes to all that, stay with R0. If no, go with SSD.

No to all of that... but I do program. I'm a little concerned about the amount of writes I would impose on the SSD with all the compiling and whatnot. I also have VMs running from time to time to test different environments.

Oh, they do support 4k. After all, if the SAS drives didn't support 4k, they couldn't support anything else. 4k read/write is most commonly OS files, as it usually access a lot of small files when you start it up and writes to a lot of small files as you use it. This is why people say SSD is so snappy compared to a HDD, because of increased 4k read/write speeds (having 0.1 access time helps too).

Don't worry about the code compiling or the VM thing. SSDs are designed to withstand that. Just don't copy multi-gig files to SSDs like candy (actually, you can do it and still get great SSD life).

Just use the SSD.

If it is going to cost money to switch I would bother. But that's me. 15k SAS drives are nothing to complain about.
