not sure what to search for so Im not sure whats out there, but after the move I'm going to re-order my garden. Ive got 6 carsd already boxed up for the move, here's what I'm thinking ...

Gamer Rig
Q66 on a 750i SLI
3x GTX 260 (192)

Folder 1
E66 on a 680iLT
2x 9600 GSO's (will upgrade come winter, might even donate one or two)

Folder 2
E83 on a 680i LT LanParty
3x 8800 GT's

The thing is tho, on that lan Party there is a 4x slot as well
Id like to put one more 88 in there to round it out and be done with it.
Do they make a riser I could get? I could cut the board and what not, but I'd have to cut a heatsink as well, a riser would be so much easier I think.

Also, what would my PPD and power draw be roughly for this setup? I may not be able to fire it all up until november but in theory, what am I looking at? The 2 other rigs will start in my rack and eventually I'll put others in there too, but for the moment 2+1 will be my max

Depending on how good you are with a dremel, you just take the bit of plastic off the back of the 4x slot so the rest of the card can pass though.

It is a proven technique, but can be messed up easily.

im fine with a dremel but there's a heatsink there, I'd have to cut almost all of it off

Then unless you plan on taking off part of the bottom of that card...... I'm not sure what to do.

SHIT

for that money, anyone got links to a how to on how to cut the card itself? I'd rather spend 55 bucks on a card then 45 on just the riser

thanks for the links tho

Just cut off what is in the way. If it isn't going to be in the slot anyways......

OK, found a 4x riser for 6$, when it comes in I'll put a card in and see how it does
