hello guys..

Whenever i install Official Nvidia 40.72 drivers on my Ti4200 card, it always says 2X Enabled. ( My mobo can support up to 4X ). But if i tried Omega drivers, it will be 4X enabled becoz of an additional AGP Settings tab found on the driver page...But ironically, this omega driver crashed with dual-bootings..

So i was wondering if there is any way to enable the AGP Setting tab on the official nvidia detonator drivers 40.72....

*my system only works best on 40.72..

Thanks!!

Guess what? Are you running a Pentium III system and your motherboard uses a Via chipset? There's your problem right there. With official nVidia drivers, your system can only enable 2x AGP maximum. In fact, with PIII systems, the only chipsets which will work reliably at 4x AGP with official nVidia drivers are the Intel i815, i820 and i840 series chipsets (the i820 and i840 series require Rambus/RDRAM).

I see...

But how come the Omega version was able to set to 4X AGP on Windows 2k/XP?

Anyway i can set the AGP rate to 4x under Windows 98SE, with official nvidia drivers..

But i need it to run on Windows 2k/XP..thats the reason why i post this :)

Well, the Omega drivers hack the Windows registry of Windows 2K/XP automatically (the official nVidia drivers cannot) - and even under Windows 98SE, you'll have to manually hack the Windows registry in order for the official nVidia drivers to work in 4x AGP mode on PIII CPU/Via chipset-based systems.

Nice card BTW, my first. Overclocks like a dream. :)

I agree it's a good card...mine was an OTES version, so its already overclocked to Ti4400 clock speed....

But my VIA chipset screwed it up.....Can only go up to 2X AGP in Windows 2k/XP OS.
