Well, in between my last post and this one I went through a 3rd and 4th replacement. The 4th gets a 99.9 score for perfect backlight and 1 stuck subpixel. It shows up green on a totally black background. I'll never see it. In fact I'm quite sure I'll be the only one who ever knows it's there. Customer service was commendable, though with a few annoyances such as: Dell wanted me to return my original monitor when the first replacement came, but it was total crap (the monitor had 15-20 bad subpixels), so I said, "no way Habib, I'm holdin' on to this one, it might be the best one I get". So he did some crap and said I was good to go. Then when I called back to replace the 3rd one the Dude said somethin' ain't right. So I told him to fix it and again said you ain't gettin' the original back. It goes like this: 1. Out of the box. 2. Test 3. Back in the box. 4. Off to Dell. Simple right? Apparently not for Dell. Oh well, all is good now. Also they didn't send return labels for 3 and 4. Number 4 label was to be for original monitor if I like number 4, which I do. Anyway it seems Dell has switched to using UPS for returns w/o labels. They give you a reference number, and you take your stuff to a UPS store and give them the number, and they take care of it. I got lucky enough to get there while the UPS clerk still had his software CD from Dell laying on the counter with a few printouts of how to do the transaction. He put in the ref. number and nothin doin'. So he calls Dell and they tell him to not enter the leading zero of the number and boom it works. What? Now I'm a friggin' Beta Tester for Dell and UPS's greasy palms? This all took an hour I needed because I was rushing to see an old girlfriend from 10 yrs. ago. But it was worth the wait. Her or the monitor?, you might ask. C'mon man, I can turn my monitor on anytime...... Geez, man I'm tired. Tired, but finally happy. This monitor is Titz. She wasn't too bad either. Peace people.
