I was wondering, should I get a 4K monitor for my Xbox 360? I can get a really good deal on one, so dont worry about price. Will games look any better at 4K on console, or exactly the same as 1080/720p?

they get dumbed down to what ever the output of the 360 can handle.
I would say the best is 1080P but maybe it will look sharper?

It wouldn't look any different than a 1080p monitor. 4k is just 1080p x 4 so each pixel represented will be 4 pixels instead.

Keep in mind though that 99% of games on the Xbox 360 is less than or equal to 720p

Okay, so pointless to spend a penny more on a 4K TV for only a Xbox 360 then?

I say go for it, even though the 360 won't take advantage of it, at least your screen will be futureproof once 4k content becomes more widespread.

Next question is; does a 4k tele scale 720/1080 to 4k? Kinda like how dvd looks better when scaled to 1080p on a good tv or bluray player.

Better wait for next gen screens with hdmi 2.0

The Xbox 360 does not support output at 4K resolution. Even if it did, I would imagine that the upscaling to it would look pretty bad when most games run 720p natively.

4k @ 30hz or 60 hz?

There were a lot of cheap 4k TV's in the past year that only did 30 FPS.

4k will not be mainstream for many years. Buying a model now to "future proof" is foolish because by the time you need a 4k display, much better models will be available for equal or less money.

If a TV does do fancy upscaling it will likely introduce extra lag in order to process each frame of video before displaying it. I expect the average 4K TV is worse for gaming* than the average 1080 TV.

*below 4K resolution.
