Would be possible to put a lcd from a 3rd or 4th gen ipod touch into a 2nd gen? just wondering. Thanks in advance. Also, do they make white digitizatizers for the 2nd gen?
No, the connectors are different. Plus, in the case of the 4th gen LCD, the 2nd gen's GPU is insufficient to support the resolution. You would need to buy an identical part
What's going wrong with it?
I've managed to replace the LCD and digitizer in a 2nd gen touch. It isn't easy to do cleanly, I mangled the gasket and ruined the old LCD cable (hence replacing the LCD also, instead of just the digitizer). However, the underlying damage was liquid, and thus my efforts were in vain. The touch died the next day.
