4890 xfire vs. gtx 280?

Anybody know what kind of performance increase I will see going from a single gtx 280 to dual 4890's? I'm getting kind of bored with my setup.

That has both the 4890 crossfire and GTX280 in it.

Do you need a performance boost? You will most certainly get one. From what I have seen the 4890 is basically on par with a GTX 280. Even if a game does not support crossfire you will not have lower performance on a single card. If you want to just do it for a new setup go right for it if you have the money to use on it.

The 4980 can hang with a GTX 285 and OC'd clocks and stock is rigth there with the 280, and that is a single card. If you have the money and CPU power to push it there is no reason not to choose Xfired 4980s over one 280.

I've wanted to know this too... as Im wondering if I should get a 4890 xfire, or a 280 SLI.... but then again, the new cards coming up, I wanna see if it will be worth it to wait or just go ahead
