I am swapping my 4890 for a 5450 because I never play games and the 5450 is silent and uses much less power. My only concern is 1080p movie playback with VLC. Will I notice any difference?

Yup, good move, plus the 5450 has high-def audio through HDMI if you ever need it.

I think the 5450 is too weak with only 80 Cores, the 6450 is a much better choice IMO with at least 160 cores and will provide better image quality too!

WOw what a difference. Originally my 2500K @ 4.5 Ghz and 1.4V would hit 70C under load with a Noctua cooler (no other case fans). I returned the CPU to stock speed at 3.3 Ghz and undervolted to 1.1V and it cooled to only 56C at load. Then I took out my 4890 and put in the 5450 and now it hits only 51C under load. Awesome! feels good to use less power.

Gonna see if I can run this CPU at .9 or 1.0Vcore
