... eat shit. ... you arent tough at all if you have to talk shit on forums..honestly. ...
haha

I have a drawer full of games from the last few years. Most were bought retail and some where bought used. I can post this if you need me to make you feel better about your pirate copy of GTA IV.
I lol'd

On a side note, I'm interested in how much you paid for the card as well.

LOL @ 4890 for 1280x.... and bigger LOL for the PSU comment, my entire system in my sig barely pulls 500 watts

I can see buying a 4890 for 1280. It's a $250 card and he's gonna be able to max pretty much every single game out with mass ammounts of AA.

You need a bigger monitor (1920x1200). Yeah the performance will drop, but the additional detail, and the fact that the 4890 can handle that resolution just fine will make it more than worth it.

Going from 1280x1024 to 1680x1050 was like night and day to me (but I also went from TN to glossy P-MVA), so I can only imagine going from 1280 to 1920.

Yeah, people have been a bit of a bitch in this thread :p

People have flamed him for his power supply comment without actually saying WHY. Sure, tell him the comment shows a lack of knowledge, but why not then explain WHY it shows lack of knowledge.

The reason is the 4890 consumes more power than the GTX 260 and 4870. The GTX 275 consumes slightly more power than the 4890, but not heaps more, if you are happy running the 4890 on a 500W its not much closer to the edge running a GTX275 on one, most people would recommend 550W for either card.

The recommendations on the manufacturer's websites (the nvidia site, ATI site or whatever) are usually total system power consumption, nvidia even gives both card and recommended system power. It depends on the whole system, not just what card you are using and the quality of your PSU. As such the number they give you depends on what they assume the rest of your system is, and how much they assume of the total PSU power you want to be using, which will vary from company to company.
