Just thought I would spread the wealth if you need or want to up your plane Jane 4870x2 to 4870x2 XOC I have Master easy 2 step flash utility Dont ask where and how I got them (DIAMOND) hehe good guys!!

Just E me or Aim and i will send them to you with easy instructions

Again these are flash utility made for me so hush!! just unzip and run first the Master GPU do not reboot then the Slave GPU once done reboot

I got then direct from Diamond you can flash your 4870x2 regular crad to the 4870x2 XOC overclocked speeds very simple comes with instructions.

I'm not sure what this guy is actually pushing. But if you want to overclock your video card you have two options: (1) Use RivaTuner to overclock your card via software or (2) Download a copy of your BIOS from your video card and edit it using TechPowerUp Radeon Bios Editor (RBE) v1.17 and then upload the modified BIOS it to your card using ATIFlash 3.60.

I've gone both routes. When I had 2 HD4850s in CF I used RBE to download the BIOS for each card, edited each and uploaded each back to the respective card. I also modified the fan settings while I was in there. Worked well. :D

It is worth mentioning that the voltage increase option (one of the 4 presets in 4870 BIOSes) does nothing. To really OC beyond stock cooler, you need.... an aftermarket cooler.

Exactly...this guy is offering nothing that isn't already available online if you spend 10 minutes looking. That...and the bold type is slightly irritating.

Any potential harm in doing this? What if your cards can't handle the OC . . . can it be undone?

Also, how much more heat will this generate? These two cards in CF-X are already turning my office into a sauna as is :)
 
Well i would think about doing the fan mod but the ones for sale dont have any speical cooling, as far as me I put all my cards on water the only way to go cooler and quiet!! here is some picks of one of my systems with benching and all.

I have done over 10 cards not one issue fashing, But save your bios just in case if your scard!!!

I only offer these because they are factory ultilties from Diamond, as I said Im a builder with good connections and hate to see ppl using all the flash programs that have problems.

PS these wont be there long as i dont want to loose my connections!!! so upload fast before there gone.

I realize that your utilities are supposed to be much more streamlined and "straight from Diamond", but the methods that people have been using have been working just fine. The only issues I have ever come across are typically when people are using the wrong version of a program or they simply aren't following simple instructions.

Because there already are perfectly usable methods of flashing your cards BIOS you shouldn't be surprised to see people doubting you, I wouldn't touch the files myself, why would I use a new and undocumented flashing method when there's dozens and dozens of other experiences I can draw information from using other programs?

You may or may not have some awesome connections, but you can't seriously expect people to jump all over this offer of yours. Like it or not most people are gonna assume it's a scam, or something that'll ruin their cards, you may say that you've flashed 10 cards with this method, but we have no real proof...and when dealing with something possibly damaging like a GPU BIOS flash it's not worth those risks.

Another thing, video card BIOS's should never be flashed in windows to begin with, too much can happen to effect the process with windows running that is beyond your control. Video card BIOS files should only be flashed on startup using a bootable cd/floppy disc/usb key...another fact that most knowledgeable people will submit to. It's irrelevant if employees at Diamond use this method to flash their own cards, as they're working in VERY controlled environments and with systems that are designed uniformly to perform a specific function. As soon as you start offering windows based BIOS flashing methods to the masses their ARE going to be issues that pop up. With the seemingly limitless possible combinations of hardware and software out there it's only a matter of time before this "hot new" windows based flashing method ruins someones card.

Face it man, there's to much going against you here, you can keep trying to offer this all you want...but in the end there are very few people dumb enough to be a guinea pig with something new and undocumented (saying that you have used it 10 times isn't documented proof...bring us links to other forum discussions with multiple people in agreement and you can start saying it's proven) that could very easily cripple their $600 video cards.
 
As in any flash program there are risk, you here it every day!!! as far as im concerned ues them or dont!! up to you.

Even the one your talking about ppl have issues with as you said there are countless combo's of hardware that may effect a flashing.

As far as proven well Im not sure what proves anything except when it comes from the factory I would tend to think thats a better more useful method for there product.

Im not out to ruin anyones cards not my thing just offering this method easy fast and I havent had issues using it.

Like everyone else USE AT OWN RISK!!!

It will be there for another 2 days should you want to if not so be it!!

Coming from someone who's first language is not English this may sound a little hypocritical. But It would really help your argument if you used even rudimentary spell checking. Naming your readme file "how 2 falsh.txt" doesn't really instil much trust.

T&B: Nobody is slamming you, I said that already...if you're still taking what I'm saying as a personal slam you're dead wrong, I'm just laying it all on the line for you and letting you know why you're getting the reception you are.

Still seems a little fishy to me that you and the flashing method are "gone in 2 days"...can't say it'll effect me or anyone else much at all.

You may have meant well, but you did nothing but make myself and others uneasy and cautious, sorry if you took anything as a personal attack...it wasn't.

Don't worry, you weren't the only person who thought the same thing. I'm not fond of grammar nazis myself, but dear lord, that previous post makes just about every common mistake possible in only a few sentences. ("here" instead of "hear", "your" instead of "you're" "effect" instead of "affect", "there" instead of "their". Quite an accomplishment really.


Regardless, the guy does build a nice computer and I assume all his mental energy goes into that endeavor. As for the flash offer, it seems pretty nice of him. I'm assuming it's free and he's not making any profit from it. I might have been tempted myself but I already have a Diamond 4870X2OC so it doesnt "affect" me. :p
