4870x2 vs gtx 295

[25thofmay]

the x2 is cheaper. i play at 1920x1200, i dont know if it's better to wait for the next release. what do you guys/gals think?

my current card is a gtx 260 old 192!

[Omerta]

keep your gtx260 and wait for the next generation

[25thofmay]

thanks.
i think i'll do just that.
any info of when?

[Mr. Wolf]

They're very close, performance-wise. From an Nvidia fanboy's perspective (i.e., ME), the 4870x2 is the much better buy as you noted.

rumors are ATI will release them possibly by summer, but who knows

Try running your 260 @ about 660|2100 and wait on the next gen.

I have a 4870x2 and love it (with the Catalyst 9.5 drivers). Next gen will be very expensive when it comes out. Get one now or wait and pay bucks later. Depends on how long you want to wait and how much you want to spend.

i motherboard is capable of crossfirex only and my current card is the old 192 cores. i think i'll get the ati card. maybe go 2x x2s (quad). i can expend about $650.

[RADEoN]

get 2 x2's and clean up my drool.

My 4870 x2 in Aug 2008 for $589 + Tax. I only see the 1GB cards not any x2's. How much are they now?

X2's now go for <$400, as low as $350 I think (new).
