4870x2 textures stretching

Well, first off I am now the proud owner of a 4870x2 along side a Dell 30" 3007WFP-HC (system in sig.)

But, in all of my games (WAR, CS:S, COD4, CoH, etc.) I am getting this strange graphical glitch, it just seems to, i guess, stretch out the textures in game and eventually turn my screen into a colorful mess.

Now, that happens when i am in Fullscreen, but if i run windowed mode with max res (looks just like fullscreen) the issue goes away.

I have tried many different settings in CCC, underclocking, overclocking, etc. Also completely uninstalled and then reinstalled 8.8, 8.9 and 8.10 Cats... still having the same issue. Just wondering if there is a know fix that i could not find or what.

Oh, and I am at work right now - but i do have some screenshots at home. Will post them around 6PM CST.

Well, those are definitely graphical artifacts. How are your temps ?
Increase the fan cycle and see if the problem goes away. If not, it's time for RMA.
 
ya, those are usually caused by a bad overclock, or a stock clock that isnt getting cooled properly. W/ the 8.10 beta drivers, there is now fan control. Default is 27%, change this to say 40% (you shouldnt really notice a difference) and see if this helps, this should bring temps down quite a bit.
 
yeah, when i'm in game i'm sitting at 50% fan speed. Temps at idle are 37-39 idle, not sure on load. Thing that gets me is that i have no issue if i run windowed mode at max res (looks just like fullscreen), but it doesn't cause this issue.

I'll check the load temps when i get home again... hopefully won't need to rma lol.
 
Alright, looks like i hit around 79-81C under load, still having same issue after reinstalling drivers again... RMA?

Any way that i can make sure it is the card before i go that route and waste a lot of time? lol.
 
sounds like a bad card sorry homie.

what I would do is this.

Using ATI overdrive, under clock the ram. In other words, force the ram to say 700 mhz (2.8ghz effective instead of 3.6) Try your game again see if the problem is still there.

If it is still there, then lower the core from 750 to say 600. Try your game again see if the results are still there.

If they go away, its definately your card, it just cant handle the clock speeds, even though temps are in order.

If it doesnt go away, then it could still be the card, but also maybe not.

At that point do a clean install of windows and then reinstall teh game and drivers for your videocard.

See if the issue goes away. If it does, your good, if it doesnt then ya, your gonna need to RMA.

Thanks a lot Xenox. I did try the underclocking and running ATI Tool, but it just kept turning completely yellow with artifacts. Also put in a 4850 and had no issues in game or with ATI Tool. So, it definitely seems like my issue is the card - sending it back over to NewEgg today.
