4870X2 CrossFireX Best Practice question

If I were to get two 4870X2s and put them in CFX would it be prudent to flash them with the same bios for stability sakes when it came to card operation and drivers?

For example, if one card was Sapphire and the other XFX would it be a good idea to run the XFX bios on both cards?

Use GPU-Z to see which version they each have, it's possible they already have the "same" bios, just with different brandings.

In general it is good to have them use a matching bios. You might see if there is a new Bios available for each that has the correct branding in case you ever need to send it in for warranty service or w/e.
 
I have a XFX card that does an impersonation of Michael J Fox when crossfired w/ my VisionTek, so I would highly recommend against it.

XFX will flat out ignore you and VisionTek support will give you a wonderful answer like this:

"If both cards work individually it is either a problem with the motherboard compatibility or drivers.



Visiontek Support"
