I've been trying to nail down exactly what the story is on crossfire, the 4870x2, and multiple monitors.
I currently have two monitors: dell 3007 (30") + dell 2007 (20"). I'd like to be able to run these both off the one card, and I'd like to be able to run *multiple*, windowed, Direct3D applications at once, spread across these monitors. And of course, I want it hardware accelerated. This is for vista 64, btw.
I've seen a couple of different sources say crossfire supports this, but I wonder how that relates to this single (x2) card solution as opposed to multiple cards in a traditional crossfire configuration? Can I just plug my two monitors into the two DVI ports and have it work like this?
Also, does this card support crossfireX (which seems to be what I need to crossfire over multiple monitors)? ATIs site doesn't list it as supported, not sure if that's just because it's new or if it really isn't supported.
