4870x2 Abnormally high voltage?

As can be seen in the screenshot above when GPU1 is being stressed (was playing MW2) the voltage jumps all the way up to 1.662V. I KNOW this is not normal? Why does this occur and how can I go about fixing it?
 
I would say that is a reporting error, as the card is a fairly hot running card in general, there is zero chance it wouldn't overheat almost instantly (if not fail completely) at that voltage.

What are your temps like when this occurs?
 
You're running multiple programs that poll the voltage regulator and causes this problem. Run just one program that shows voltage and it'll go away. I had the same thing when running Afterburner, GPU-Z, and Everest in any combination. My fix was to turn off Afterburner's voltage monitoring. And yes, it's actually pushing that much voltage, but there are safeguards that keep it from instantly burning out.
