I was changing the thermalpaste on my Diamond 4870 x2. Now when doing so I was using the Artctic Cleaner 2 step product. With the 1s step I put one drop on the GPU core's. Now When doing so this fluid and the thermalpaste tat was breaking up ran into the transistors somewhat. I cleaned them out and rubbed them with Alcohol 70% to get any old thermalpaste l paste off of them. It was the old thermalpaste that got on them not the AS5. I made sure of that. Now I can not test my computer since it is down, the mainboard is shot. Now will this change and the problems that happened ruin my card? Since the fluid and TIM went on the transistors?

Can you give a picture of what you're describing. because I'm slightly confused

As I understand, the cleaner caused the packaging of the die itself to erode away or something? Somehow I find that hard to believe.

I use the Arctic Cleaner often. Typically, it's best to put the chemicals on something and wipe up the old tim rather than just put it on the chip itself. I use coffee filters because they're affordable and don't leave lint.

He's saying the cleaner & original TIM mixture got on the transistors around the die. Chances are the original TIM is not conductive, so you're probably fine. Not 1000% sure though, only 999.9%

I bet you will be fine. I have that happen many times, never a problem. If you are really concerned, buy some electronic cleaning spray and with a fine nozzle, blast the areas you think are contaminated and then clean the tops of the chips again before applying the TIM.

Forgot to say, just be sure the electronic cleaner spray leaves no residue when dry, the wrong type of spray might leave lubricant behind.

Ah okay.

I've done that many times in the past. As long as you clean it up, you shouldn't have any problems.
