Im using windows x64, framework 3.0, with the 8.12 drivers. I cannot load CCC and only one monitor will show in windows x64. What is the cause of this problem, anyone?
 
ok using the 8.11 and they work, but how do i disable crossfire so i can setup the 2nd lcd?

You can install Linux on it, change the harddrive, surf the web, play movies and musics. So, what is the difference between that and a Mac ;)

You don't need to disable crossfire to setup the LCD, just go to CCC and set it up there.
 
It says to me CrossFireX is currently enabled. Before you can enable an extended desktop or reassign the primary display, you need to disable CrossFire. Please recheck your CrossFireX status.

On a Mac, you can install Windows on it, change video card, sound card, coolings, create movie and musics. So, what is the difference between a that and a PC? ;)

IMO PS3 is not serious enough to be consider anything but a multimedia machine. Now show me you overclock of cell :p.

Is you second monitor the same model as your first one? If not, do they use the same connector?
 
Same monitor both 22inch soyo monitor. The one shows windows other is greyed out in the attached displays currently disabled.
 
Is the version of Windows he is running not any ones concern? XP or Vista?

Don't forget that the PS3 can play a lot more games compared to the Mac :p
 
Only thing now is my game performance sucks. my 8800 gtx was smoother.

im using edge-effect AA. no adaptive. gotta play around with settings i guess

in left 4 dead its terrible. my 8800 gtx ran circles around this card. Am i possibly missing something?
 
System spec? Did you do a clean windows install when upgrading from the 8800GTX? At least you should do the driver cleaner thing because people had problems upgrading a nVidia card to an ATI card.
 
I didnt do driver cleaner, I took everything off from Nvidia. drivers, folders, etc.

I forgot to tell that you need to enable Catalyst AI for Crossfire to work in games.
 
I dont believe i disabled crossfire at all. I couldnt find it in the driver settings are all.

If I did where would that be located?
 
You can't enable/disable crossfire on the X2 but crossfire won't work when Catalyst AI is disabled.
 
Do you mean both GPU's wont work unless AI is enabled?

When I put on AI my games stutter and in world of warcraft the shadows at all messed up & everything flickers.

Im using the 8.11 drivers. The 8.12s wouldn't let me use CCC. So far I'm hating AMD drivers, since I'm use to nvidia drivers.

How can I tell if both GPU's are being used???

If catalyst AI is disabled both GPU's are NOT working.

Sounds like you definitely have some interesting issues going on.

I recommend Running the ATI uninstall (full express uninstall)
Run driver sweeper
Reboot
Install Ati 8.11 or 8.12's (make sure you download the right one for your os, xp or vista, 32 or 64)
Reboot
 
I had the same problem with WinXP and Vista 32 bit.

it seems the drivers of ATI are very tempermental. for the X2 under display properties there should actually be a listing for a 4 monitor setup, obviously 3 would be grey'd out. The dual dvi's are set as DVI 1+2 and DVI 3+4. Meaning one DVi handles 2 monitors and the other handles the other 2. It is strange cause you can not use 4 monitors without disabling crossfire and that can not be done on a x2, you can not enable number 2 or 4 monitor cause crossfire is always on. BTW, Disabling Catalyst A.I. does not disable crossfire on a x2. So your stuck using 1 monitor each on the DVI ports to achieve your Dual setup, or you can do what I did and add a 4870 1 GB version (which actually displays the crossfire option), disable crossfire from the second card and you will be able to add a third monitor (if yuo wanted to). Yes I am triple crossfired.

Now your main problem is that the drivers are having a conflict somewhere in your registry. A full wipe and OS install will fix the problem, unless you care to spend a long time in the registry to remove all of ATI registries. I tried this and still had a problem, until I wiped clean and did a new OS 64bit install. Now I run a triple setup when i need the 3 or crossfire it for more power which does cut off the third monitor. I believe I have the best of both worlds.
