4870 x2 Doesnt Clock Correctly in Games

So, i know the 4870 x2 clocks down to 507/500 when not in 3d games, but even in some games the clocks dont set correctly. Im running the 8.9 official drivers.

Here is a screen from Crysis 1.21 Patched

As you can see in the top left, the Core Clock went up correctly to 750 but the Memory stayed at 500.

Here is a screen from Crysis Warhead

As you can in the top left, both the Core Clock and the Memory Clock set correctly at 750/900/

So does anyone know how i can get the clocks to set correctly in games like Crysis Original?

No because Crysis is a piece of shit that doesn't run properly on ATI cards in Crossfire.

My roommate has a 3870 Crossfire rig with the same problem, and I had a 3870x2 with the same problem. EA could have easily patched this, but instead they decided to abandon all the people who paid for Crysis so they could charge them again for a sequel that works properly. Definitely a sheisty business model.

I dont mean to derail slightly but what program did you use to monitor that - The readings on the top left?

its RivaTuner. Just start it up and run hardware monitoring. From there hit setup, and select what you want to monitor. Then go click on each setting and click setup. In this menu select show on screen. After you set that for all the settings you want, just run the statistics server and your set.

I've been trying to get the OSD working for a while, it just doesn't want to display for some reason

I had that problem too. Figured out that you have to have the Hardware monitoring window open and running in the background. Once you have it open go into a game and the OSD will be there.

also, so does anyone know if theres any patch of anything to get crysis to use the card properly? i really wanna play it but because of the memory running at half speeds, im only getting like half the frames i should. Others are having their cards working fine, so i just want mine haha Any idea?

Also, i know how people dont like EA and they're DRM and i know, but i still really want this fixed

P.S.- Op try using the Catalyst 8.8 to see if this rectifies the problem. Just a shot in the dark

I remember I saw some tool that lets you see vmem usage but never asked. Looking through Rivatuner, I can't see anything along those lines.

ah that may be why, im on Vista with the 8.9's. I have XP but its been slow lately and i dont feel like doing a reformat right now haha

Make sure you tell it to run the Statistics Server, otherwise you won't see the OSD.

I noticed you have the Rivatuner Monitor running with the 32 bit binary, this works fine for me. It won't display on the 64 bit binary, any suggestions?

I have Vista 64 and mine Upclocks fine by the way with the 32 Bit Binary.
Ohh, and why only DX9 in Warhead?? Is there a problem there?

Could it be Riva is fighting with CCC for who runs the OC?
