4870 screen size not right, doesn't show native resolution

have it set to 1920x1080, native res, but doesn't fill screen, by about an inch and a half (diagonal), screen looks blurry. does anyone have this problem?

I was able to install hotfix driver from ati, after a few tries.

won't let me decrease res either, i can take it down one or two notches and it stays at basically the same size, then if i go down lower, it won't display at all. had to boot into safe mode and use system restore to get it back to usable.

thanks for any help,
rlr

CCC display manager and check if the refresh is at 60hz. If it's at 75hz change it to 60hz then select the resolution drop down selection and you should see 1920x1080. Go to DTV and Scaling options and set the slider to 0% overscan.

Thanks! had everything right except the scaling options slider, now it fits fine. when i played crysis last night w/ other (smaller screen) settings, some things in the picture were skewed, like my HUD display, hopefully this will fix that too.

Do I want to enable Adaptive AA?
Do I want to modify Open GL settings? nothing is checked in the boxes now
Even if I don't select application control, games take over these settings, right?

I was able to play crysis on high with the card, no AA though (set in game), but it still looked a lot better than my 8800gts on medium, and had a stable 24fps, whereas before it might have gone a little higher, but it dropped down a lot. can't wait to get another one of these to cf with this one, should be much better.

thanks again,

Wow that's a very low fps you are reporting. You should get at least 44 fps, or something is wrong. a guy in another thread gets 60 fps average at those settings.

OpenGL settings don't affect crysis which uses the Directx library.
