4870 hdmi adapter

I was trying out the hdmi adapter and plugging into my HD tv.
Well it works great, desktop text is a little fuzzy but the games are awesome looking.
One thing I can't get both card outputs to work. If the tv is plugged in my monitor is black.
As soon as I unplug the tv I get a choice of screen 1 or 2. Can you not do dual output with the hdmi adapter?
 
Yes, it works for me. You need to enable the extended desktop for the second display even if it's a monitor or TV via HDMI.

To make the desktop text appear sharper make sure the TV is running in it's native resolution.
 
It must be something I am doing wrong. I can run 2 monitors and its fine.
As soon as I try the HDMI adapter as soon as I turn on the system the only output is thru this adapter.
I have on other selection for output on the disktop.
If I shutdown and reboot I can again see my monitor.
this is a visiontek 4870. It seems that if it sees the dongle that is the only output you are getting.
 
You can try hot swapping. Set an extended desktop to a resolution the HDMI TV can use. Run the main display on the monitor and plug in the HDMI dongle to extended port. It should work, at the very least it should clone the main desktop onto the HDMI like mine does.

What drivers are you using?
