4870 and crysis

Hi all, i just revieved my radeon 4870, but having some probs :
First, i cant enable AA in crysis, i have dual boot, xp home and vista 64 and enabling AA through forcing in catalyst control center or in the game itself doesnt generate any AA regardless.(AA doesnt work neither in XP or Vista)
Whats wrong here? drivers?
Are there certain adjustments in program, catalyst control to get it working?

Second i tried the fan control "hack"with the catalyst profile, but the lines to change the fan control in the .xml file are not there, and when i copy and paste them manually in the .xml file the fan wont speed up.
Hmm im baffled, the commands to change the fan control arent even to be found in the .xml file??

I advise that you not try to enable AA in Crysis. That game's a PIG with AA on.

Go into catalyst, 3D, All Settings, Click Defaults (bottom right corner). Then try to use Crysis' in game AA. If that doesn't work perhaps you have installed a graphics tweak for Crysis. Like an autoexec.cfg file.

Not sure about the fan profile.

Go into your folder options and click on "show hidden files".

make sure you using the correct path as well, C:/Users/"your name"/AppData/Local/ATI/ACE/Profiles "fan settings"

What resolution is you monitor? I only ask because I run 1920X1200 and with all settings at "high" it gets a bit choppy from time to time on my 4870. I wouldn't even consider throwing AA on top of the settings i use... until a grab another 4870

My monitor is 1680 x 1050.
Just strange that nowhere there is a mention for fanspeed setting in the .xml file.
i gone over it a thousand times making sure i have the right folder and file, but it just isnt mentioned in the file.
very very strange, i have an MSI radeon 4870, maybe has to do with an old catalyst control ceter or something, but i cant find updates for this on the web nor can i find newer drivers besides the one that went with my install cd.
maybe have to find for another version of rivatuner with 4870 support.
or does anyone else know of software to change all this things for the radeon?

It looks like you're opening the wrong xml file.
Open Catalyst and click the Profiles button and click Profiles Manager.
Enter a profile name (I used the name fanspeed) in the first box and click save.
Now you should have a file called fanspeed.xml or whatever you named the profile as.
Edit the file to your liking and right click the ATI icon in the system tray and activate the profile.

Make sure to enable Overdrive and just tick the Overdrive settings box when making the profile.
