4870 3 red lights...PS issue?

Today my computer started randomly shutting down...sort of, the screens go blank and 3 of my 4870's red leds light up. If I power it completely off and on, it will boot up, sometimes my x58 will do the turn on, off, on, off, then boot again.

I ran fur mark on my 4870 to see if it's overheating (its watercooled) and it never gets above 60C.

Does this sound like my 700w OCZ GameXstreem is giving out? Anyway to tell for sure? I have 7 HD's, 4870, 4350, and other peripherials plugged in. HOWEVER it has ran fine since the day i7's came out.

Any ideas? Need to know if I should buy a 5870 to use for my 3 monitors or a 1000w psu, although I don't think I really need that power.

As Trillock said it doesn't always mean that...OP I had the same problem with my 4850, turned out to be my PSU.

It could be either a psu or the gpu.

get a PSU tester for $20 before spending $400 willy-nilly...or worse...$600 for a PSU and a video card. work smarter, not harder.

What drivers are you using? If its the 9.8's or 9.9's, try the 9.6's and see if it does it any more.

I'm waiting to see if the 9.10's still cause this, if so, it's rma time.

I recently had the 3 blinking reds on a bad PSU with my 4890. Works fine w/ the new PSU.

I'm thinking it's the PSU as it happens randomly, sometimes the card will rock on for a couple hours and sometimes it will happen right after boot. I'm going to go with a PSU and if it doesn't fix then return for a 5870 =)
