4850x2 Install Problem

Hey guys, I just got my 4850x2, and it's not working. :-(

I've got a BFG tech 800w psu, I can get the 6pin connector in, however the 8pin connector will NOT go all the way in no matter how hard I push. If I plug it in, and its not all the way in..mobo won't turn on. I've tried the 8pin to x2 3pin molex connectors and no go on that, but that's not fitting in all the way either.

Is it just really fucking snug?
 
my psu has the 6+2 and that one was fairly snug. I had to push the card down so i could plug it in.
 
Hmm, I'll give that a try....so, take the card out, put it on a table and push with all my might? ><
 
I mashed it in there as far as I could get it, maybe 2mm short and still nothing at all.

Next problem is, I plug in my 8800 Ultra, which I KNOW works...and the fan spins, then revs up to a high noise then no video and it sits there. I don't know what the fuck is going on atm.

I can't get anything to work with the 4850x2, or the 8800 Ultra...could it be the mobo at this point?
