I've got a 1GB 4850 and am considering upgrading. Anyone got any thoughts on buying a 4850x2 2GB and running both cards together? Would that let me run 6 monitors?
 
Don't. if you wanted to upgrade 2-3 months ago when the 4850x2 dropped in price and the 275/4890 were not released then it would have been worthwhile, but now with 4870's/gtx260s on the cheap and 4890/gtx275 providing gtx280 performance its better go just get them. Since you already have a 4850 i recommend you holding out and waiting for the "5800" series from ATi, which rumor's have it are releasing in summer.
