The 4850 has three temperature sensors - TSS0, TSS1 and TSS2. TSS0 is the core temperature. Does anyone know what the other two measure?
I've seen many people with fairly similar temperatures on all three sensors. However, on my card with a VF900, the core temperature is pretty decent but the other two are very hot when I run stress tests like ATITool. They're okay when idle, but as soon as I start the stress test, TSS1 and TSS2 skyrocket, with TSS1 topping out at around 98 degrees.

I have heatsinks on all components that were originally covered by the stock heatsink. Even with an additional fan blowing onto the card, the temperatures don't change at all. This is what my card looks like:

The odd thing is, I played Team Fortress 2 for about an hour last night and TSS1 only maxed out at 65 degrees. It seems like it only skyrockets in temperature during these stress tests. However, other people running ATITool aren't seeing crazy high temperatures on #2 and #3.
Anyone want to shed some light on this?
