So I just built my new system last week. Before I built the new system I bought a 4850 and stuck it in my old computer, it was a Sapphire Toxic. While I was playing games or just surfing the web the video would just shut off and the box saying VPU recovery had restarted my video card because it stopped responding. So I figured I just got a bad video card, I sent it back and exchanged it for a Palit 4850. I stuck in the Palit and got the exact same problems. I had been wanting to build a new PC for awhile anyway so I just used that as an excuse to get a new motherboard/CPU/PSU and RAM. Now I stick in that Palit and still get the exact problem just not as often. So I got an RMA on that video card and they sent me a new one. This new one I put in tonight, when I try to activate dual monitor the screen goes brown with lines up down the monitor and my whole PC reboots. I'm at a loss on what to do now. Its a whole new system, the only thing carried over from the old PC is the case and the DVD drive. I'm still running windows XP 32 bit, I plan on buying Vista in a couple of weeks but I kinda blew my budget on components getting all this stuff. Any tips or ideas I would greatly appreciate. The new system is in my sig.
To sum it up 3 different video cards in 2 different systems and the same problems carry over.
Old system:
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe socket 939
AMD X2 4800
500w PSU
2 gig of RAM
New system:
