4850 overclocking sucks

Increasing mem voltage is a waste of time. Core is where the gains are. If the card was squealing, you did something wrong. What voltage was the MM reading on the core?
 
squeeling is quite common in many electrical components when under load, many report squeeling with no mods whatsoever. I didn't do anything wrong, it's not my first mod.
 
What was your core voltage and the final resistance after penciling for the core?
 
Didn't even bother checking. I just booted up the computer and clocked it up to 700 and it froze, tried 675 and it lasted longer, but eventually still locked up. After that I took the eraser to the card. I got pretty much the same result as I did before the mod, except the slightly higher temps, and of course, the squealing. Based on the exceptionally poor OC at stock, I'm convinced that I've got a dud. It just wasn't worth anymore effort of trying to get a probe in my case to measure voltage and resistance.
 
Volt-modding and not even bothering measuring resistance first? Have fun with the toaster.
 
whether its bios or xml altering, still the same max voltage will be achieved which i believe is.... around 1.2 volts.
