4850 or 5770

I've found a place that will sell me a 1Gb 4850 for GBP£67 inc delivery. The cheapest I can find a 5770 is £122. What will the difference in performance be? I currently have a 1280x1024 cheapy 19" monitor, Phenom 2 720BE, windows 7, 4gb RAM, but will probably upgrade the monitor to 1680x1050 (those of you with quad quad core i7, 3 gazillion megapixel 6 x 4 eyefinity set ups, try not to laugh too much).

Does anyone have any experience of dx 11 effects such as tessellation? Are they worth paying for? I know there isn't much software out there that supports it yet, but there are more coming, I quite like the look of AvP, for example.
 
4850. You can still turn on all eyecandy + AA in all newer games at 1280x1024 with a 4850 (I should know, I own one), and you can easily crank it up to 1680 resolution and just lose some AA settings.

The price premium on the 5 series right now is just not worth it for anyone except the top-end gamer. Buy that ultra-cheap 4850, and then look to upgrade in a year or so (prices should be much lower on the 5 series by then).
 
Performance wise 4850 is supposed to be compared to 5750 so when you're making the comparison to 5770, the price gap is further exaggerated. If you're serious about eyefinity, then do you even have to ask? Many question the 5700s' ability to be able to run games in eyefinity at high detail levels so the minimum you'd be looking at is probably 5850 which other forum members constantly recommend.

However if you consider the pricing premium you're paying new stuff and due to the shortage of 5800s then you might want to wait and grab the 4850 and play on your 19" until things become affordable before you upgrade.
