So I have a Powercolor 512MB 4850 and Sapphire 512MB 4850 crossfired together.
System specs:
Gigabyte UD3P mobo F9 bios
Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz
Corsair 620HX PSU
G. Skill 2GB x 2
Sapphire 4850 512MB / Powercolor 4850 512MB
Catalyst 9.12 Drivers
WD 640 AAKS OS drive / Samsung Spinpoint 1TB Storage drive
I have both cards hooked up to the PCI-EX power connectors. I am using one Crossfire bridge nearest to the I/O panel. I mainly play Counterstrike Source and Team Fortress 2 which seem to both have problems with Crossfire.
I have Crossfire enabled in the tab and have tried Catalyst AI set to Standard and Advanced. I have tried using the Xtension Tool 1.4 to force different methods but none of them work. At first I get bad flickering and black scrolling lines and then the system will just freeze up and I have to hard restart it every time. Disabling Catalyst AI rids these problems but then I have no Crossfire benefits.
