I'll probably settle on a 22" without any kind of pixel mapping. If I run into older games that won't accept the newer WS resolution, is there anything in the CCC or some setting that will put something like black bars up there so I'm not getting a stretched, pixelated image when playing?

My monitor has that setting in its OSD setup. I "think" I saw it in CCC also but it didnt do anything when I changed it. Maybe my monitor chose to ignore it?
Personally, at 1680x1050, I prefer the stretching over the black bars. Its not enough to make you go "OMG its stretched!". Its barely noticeable to me though I guess it varies by game.
