I currently have a Tagan 480W PSU and I'm about to upgrade to the following:

X2 4800+
7800GT SLI
4x250GB HDD
+ the standard stuff

Do I need more power?

Tagan Black series (the original)

standard stuff is: 3x120mm fans, X-fi xtrememusic, two optical drives and floppy

hey!

check out this power calculator. Put your parts in and then maybe get a little bit extra.

I just did :D

They recommend 469W but 35A on the 12 volt line....mine has 28A

If I really need a new one....which would you recommend? It needs to fit in my Antec P180

they may well add a bit for safety sake. I have an OCZ 520w powerstream that has 34A on the 12v and it handles my SLI'd 7800GTX's fine.

Can't say enough about OCZ products and the support you get although their stuff is a bit pricey, but heck I had money to burn at the time :D

There are a few "SLI Ready" PSU's about would say most are suitable for fully loaded pc's

p.s. the PSU i have is longer than some so be careful

Sadly that calculator doesn't give you what you are actual 12v draw will be though.

I would recommend a new supply though.

I have been looking at the OCZ but as it's longer then my current Tagan it wount fit my case
