Hello,

I have been trying for about a week now to get my i7 4770k stable. I'm currently trying to get it at least to 4.4Ghz however I can't seem to get it stable even with 1.35v.

Could anyone give me any tips on how to proceed, am I doing something wrong? Is there a voltage I might have forgotten or that I've gotten totally wrong?

I have a Dark Rock Pro 2 by the way so my cooling can handle it until about 1.35v (spikes of 90-95° in syntetics though). I've attached my current testing results.

I use OCCT mostly, it normally detects errors in 10 minutes when AIDA64 takes more than an hour. I'll try bumping the cache voltage down.
 
I assume you have tried getting it stable on defaults and just changing multiplier and core voltage? I don't see those tests on your sheet.
 
I don't remember but my 4770k cpu with h08i.

CPU Model: i7 4770k

Core Multiplier: 45x

CPU VID: 1.323v

Vcore: 1.323v

Uncore Multiplier: 40x

Uncore Voltage: 1.229

Cooling Solution: H80i

Stability Test: XTU @ 4 hrs

this chip is delidded with gelid extreme. ( die, IHS and top of the cpu).

Okay, no clue how I seem to have forgot doing this but I just tried the following and it seems to be running stable with +2h in OCCT. Normally OCCT crashes my computer from 2 to 20 minutes, so 2 hours seems to be pretty okay.

What's the next step, just lowering the voltage to find the lowest point at this step? Raise the uncore/cache to 39-41? Would it be possible to reach 45x by tweaking the other voltages?

Prim, I would not bother with the uncore/cache, it really won't give you that much more performance. If you do want every little bit outta the processor, then raise it to until you get instability, then try to stabilize it with some extra voltage on the cache voltage.

Yes, find the sweet spot for 4.4 if that is the frequency you want to run. Pushing it further may be hard considering it is already near the throttling threshold during your stability tests.
