4770 worth it over 5670?

Hi all.. new here.

The 4770 is available at $126, the 5670 is at $105 (both 512mb)... i am a light gamer at 1440 screen res, who wishes to play games like HAWX and NFS Shift, and some FPS games like Mass Effect 2 maxed out.
From some newer games it seems the 5670 is quite near to the 4770...

Now it would be nice to save the 20 bucks ;)...however i would like games maxed out for the little gaming i do... i do have a capable psu from FSP with a video card power feed.

I don't plan to use Eyefinity, and i find very little to no difference between dx 11 and 10/9.

Now is the difference between performance of the 2 cards worth it?

One thing i'm curious about, approx. how long before the 2 cards start to show hiccups at the resolution i play at?

What is the exact PSU you have?

At about $100, I think I'd choose an HD4870 512 or 1GB over the other two for gaming.
 
well 450, its a 400w, exact model i don't remember.. so i don't think it'd be fit for a 4870 and the card anyways is beyond my budget.

Why not wait for a good sale on the 5750 or 5770. You can get a 5770 right now for $97 at Tigerdirect with a $10 MIR, ebill me $20 rebate (first time user) and bing 15.2% cashback
 
Nope needmorecarnitine not in the US...i'm in India.. apparently the worst place to buy graphics cards.. lol

this makes a huge difference in what you can use. we kinda need to know what PSU you have

well i just checked, its an everest 80 plus 400w. but what my gaming needs demand is quite less from what this psu offers.
i think i'm just gonna get a sapphire 5670 after all...

thats whats making me budge a bit toward 5670...

the 4770 should walk all over that 5670, plus it OC's like a beast most of the time. Not sure if it falls into your power rating, what's the rest of the system specs? OC'd?

you can, but you can also look at most any card with a single PCIe power cable. I know your limited where you are but a 4850 would serve you well,as would a 5770
 
Valset, 4850 is extremely hard to find here...and i don't think the psu will handle it comfortably... the 5750 is at $170, and the 5770 at 200$, the cheapest around!

Omegas, i guess u'r right it should walk all over the 5670, haven't oc'd my system tho, the proc is an e8400, with a WD 500gb disk, 3gb of RAM... nothing very high powered.

Intel_Hydralisk like i said its very hard to find the 4850 and priced even more than the 4770...

I have asus 4770 I play shift and batman arkham asylum 2 x aa 16 af all high on 1680 x 1050 with 50 - 55 fps not a problem , but my e5200 on that pc is also pushed to 3.6

good choice that card is a lil beastie i use whenever my big system down , and honestly i smile all the way to the bank
