4770 vs 3870

ok this is going to be simple should i upgrade my 3870 oc to a 4770? im currently running on a 24" display.

The HD 4770 is faster no doubt, but not worth it IMO. You should be thinking of something more powerful, like a HD 4870 or GTX 260. Only with these cards (or more powerful ones), will you see a big performance leap.
 
you should sell your 3870 and pick up a cheap 4850, wont cost much to upgrade at all and will be better on a 24 inch monitor while you wait for newer cards.

4850's can be found for around 90 bux.
 
Just play the waiting game, you don't need a good PC for that game.
 
Hold out and wait for the dx11 cards, the 4770 is decently faster, just not quite enought to validate it.

Also your CPU is a bit aged, it will CPU limit you in quite a few games, you might want to be thinking of a full system overhall soon anyways.

Well thats a bit better, the 4770 is about as much an upgrade over the 3870 as the 4850 was, I would place it as a 15-25%.

I would reconmend a bigger jump, like gtx 260, or 4870 1gb, if you don't want to wait.

ATI's next gen, should hopefully be in late summer, and prices should readjust then.
