It's probably just a board setting I must be over looking. My 2500k even when OC'd drops its multiplier when idle, but my 4670k just stays at full speed/voltage. Since I didn't know what a lot of settings were and since it wouldn't throttle at idle, I stopped at 4.4 at auto voltage (0.864v in cpuz).
There are so many cpu settings that I have 0 clue what they are in my bios so all I tweaked was my ratio. Anything I should look for that normally keeps it from "saving power?"
