4670 CrossfireX bridge needed?

I ordered two 4670's yesterday for an older box and I forgot to order the bridge as the cards don't come with them. I think I remember reading somewhere that it might not be needed.

If I do need one, anyone have one they can live without?

wait, what? they don't come w/ a CF bridge? who's the manufacturer? b/c if they can't include a simple CF bridge, then they are going on my "never to buy" list.

you can usually find them on ebay for 5-10 bucks

I'm not sure, but I believe it depends on the chipset. Your P35 (going by your sig) does not support peer-to-peer writes, so you most likely do need the bridge. X38 and X48 (and most likely P45) support P2P, so no bridge necessary.

My brother got one. I can't say I remember seeing a crossfire bridge with his sapphire one.

they're the 4670's by ASUS I grabbed on newegg for $79/each and no they didn't come with the CF bridge.

The mobo these are going on is a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R P45
