Heyas folks my ancient socket 939 ASUS mobo just bit the dust after a power surge blew the PSU. I have 400 dollars US to swap out the core components of the pc. I would prefer to stick with AMD and to go with an AM3 build but I'm willing to work with P55 core i3.

1) What will you be doing with this PC?

CausualCore Gaming, Web Browsing and mild Video Encoding
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
450$ with 50$ overflow for shipping, tax and what not.
3) Where do you live?
Toledo, Ohio but would prefer to order online.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?
Need a mobo, 4gigs of ram, CPU, and PSU
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing?
ATX Case, DVD drvies, Hard Drives, 9800 GTX+ .
6) Will you be overclocking?
Lightly, defiantly nothing extreme.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
1680 x 1050 20 inch monitor.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within the next 3 weeks.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard?
I wouldn't mind a mobo with USB 3.0 support like this AM3 or this P55 but it's not really important. Doubt I'll need SLI or Xfire support. Basically just need something with decent oc'ing ability.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
Yes

i would say if you wanna go amd this would be the build

My recommendations

Asus M4A77TD AM3 $79.99
Corsair CMPSU-650TX $99.99
OCZ Gold Edition 2x2GB DDR3 1066 $79.99
Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition 199.99

Comes out to a little above your 450, but there are 2 $10 MIRs, and the shipping would only be 10 dollars.

gwarren's build is very very solid

you might want the ripjaws instead of those corsairs for a buck more
