Someone told me that if i go into task manager and see that my Cpu usage is at 100 or over 50 then im not using dual core is this true? cause my cpu usage is going above 50 on load

I would think that all depended on what all you were running at once.

Second it is possible true. Your DFI board may need an upgraded BIOS to support Dual Core setup, but I am not a person to ask about motherboards, especially not DFI.

You don't have to max out either of the cores to see a benefit. This is misinformation. Your computer runs hundreds, if not thousands of threads, switching between tasks very rapidly. Having dual cores means that each processor, in practice, will have to make these switches less often. This is especially true if one cpu is taken to 100% usage by a particular process, it doesn't have to be interrupted to allow the other processes CPU time since they can run on the other core. This also results in a much better user experience because your system does not become unresponsive as easily.

here is a simple test: Open the task manager. Click on the Performance tab. Choose the menu option "View -> CPU History -> One Graph per CPU" If you only see one CPU Usage History Window, you are only using one core.
