Which is better for overclocking at default voltage?

I can actually get the 6400 for less than the 4300, but the 4300 is retail vs OEM for the 6400.

The E6400 is better for overclocking. I got mine to 3360 on stock voltage. ;)

I guess you are talking about the smoking MicroCenter deal for a E6400 at 160$... I'd pick this over the E4300 for sure, especially if you are planning to get a aftermarket cooler....

Yes I am.

I already have an XP-90, so and ordered $5.00 adapter so that it works with 975 sockets, but there's also the question of reselling the parts. Don't retail parts tend to resell better (esp if you ebay them)?

They don't have any in stock here in Minneapolis. They might get some in tomorrow. Dang it.

I don't care about the coupon. The price online is the same 159.99

nilepez is correct, I ordered online earlier today for the $159.99 price. I also used the coupon to pick one up at my local store for some instant gratification. Bought out their entire stock of 1.

I, OTOH, decided to pick up some lunch before pulling the trigger and it was sold out. It's ok, I can live with the 4300 if it doesn't come back into stock...FWIW, there was no limit on CPUs online. I put 5 in my basket and it didn't balk....not that I was buying 5 6400s.

same here iam upgrading from a pentium D 945
and i drove to boston to microcenter today since i had the day off
and the E6400 were sold out and they weren't getting any more until monday and thats when the sale ends so i got a E4300 and at stock speeds its just as fast as me pentium D945
