I have a system with integrated Radeon HD 4200 graphics. I use the system for my Panasonic 50" HD tv. I only use HDMI - there is no VGA.
The HDMI cable is about 40'. The TV is upstairs, the computer below it in my basement. The HDMI cable is in the wall.

The system normally works fine. However, it seems if I change HDMI on my TV and later go back, I'll get a blank screen. No video at all. If I reset my computer - I'll get video back.

My computer is not locked up. I can access it with LogMeIn just fine.

The computer is running Vista Ultimate (32 bit). I installed the latest CCC 2 days ago.

Any ideas? This is very annoying. I almost have my wife sold on the home theater computer - however, the blank screen issue is not helping my cause. (It's also ticking me off)

hmm interesting.. was it working fine til you installed the new CCC drivers or was it screwing up even before that? if it started up when you installed the newer drivers.. you may want to take a look at the 10.2 beta drivers that are currently out on guru3d or try going back to an older version like 9.10 since i doubt there is anything they changed between 9.10 and 9.12 that would improve HDMI support for the older 4k series gpu's..

No, I've had problems with the HDMI blanking out since day #1. I was hoping a driver update might take care of the problem. It will work fine for a while. I'll change my HDMI port on the TV to cable, then go back to the HDMI hooked up to my TV. I think if I turn off my TV while on the PC's HDMI, it can also go blank.
It's almost like it's losing a handshake signal or something along those lines.

Sounds like a handshake issue to me. Have you tried actually unplugging and re-seating the HDMI cable when this occurs?

Long HDMI cables often times act funny...

EDIT: Have you tried updating the BIOS on the motherboard as well?
