I'll have about $400 to spend on some upgrades for my pc soon. What I have now is in my sig. I know memory is the first thing I want to upgrade. What are your suggestions for that?

I need some new case fans, but that's small taters. But I was looking to pick up a tv tuner card as well. I also want just 1 large hard drive (200Gb or so). So suggestions would be very much appreciated, for other things as well!

I don't know what you use your computer for, but 1GB of RAM seems to be enough already. If it were me i'd get a new mobo and processor. Maybe save up a little more and get a PCIe mobo and a new vid card to go with it.

Edit: The TV card and hard drive look like good buys too, if you don't want to do a total upgrade right now.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the memory isn't additional. I want something faster and higher quality. The current stuff I have will end up going into a 2nd machine I'm putting together for my wife. Same with the other hard drives.

I read somewhere here that TV card was a good one to go with. I just want to dabble with it a bit, so I don't want to spend a mint on one.

new board and chip, the XP's just cant keep up anymore.

Any suggestions? I haven't looked at the mobo's much for the newer CPUs. I'm running the Abit board now and am happy with it, but what's a good way to go for the newer ones? Any good priced combos out there right now?

Could go dfi nf4 and venice 3200+ for like 330$ or just a tad more.

Yeah, but then that puts me over on getting decent memory. Right now, my cpu seems to be doing me just fine. But I'm held back on memory. But if I could get new board, cpu and memory for around $400, that would be cool. I just want to stay away from Value Ram. Time to move up in the world a bit.
