• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Cisco Press book and a pair of routers is about all you need.

Test is $125 if you take the combined (longer test). I think its $100 each if you take the smaller tests.

Yes its worth it if you do/want to do networking.

I am seriously considering going after my CCNA certification. The MCSE track is burning me out and I need to go after CCNA at some point anyway. I have a few questions for those of you who have done it.

What study methods did you use? I don't really have access to take classes but my company will give me all the switches and routers that I want to build my lab and learn with.

How much is the test? I can probably reimbursed for the cost of the exam through work if it isn't too expensive.

Overall, is it worth it? Cisco certs seem to be very well respected but is it possible in the future that the market could become saturated like in the old MCSA days?

thanks guys

I think the MCSE/A track for 2003 is respected. It isn't like what I've -heard- from the NT4 days...

Get the Deluxe version of Todd Lammle's Sybex book. It comes with a router sim and that's really all you need. At ~$80 the book is a bargain if you're not going to progress in Cisco's certification track. However, I do suggest you get a second source of information to fill out your knowledgebase. For this I suggest some incarnation of the Internetworking Technologies Handbook by CiscoPress.
