Im a little confused due to some of the reply's I've goten from my last posts, is adding a 4 ohm sub and amp okay for the computer or do i have to go 8 ohms?

The 4 Ohm rating is for the speakers and is only relevant when choosing an amplifier to use with the speakers.
You only need concern yourself with the connection to the amplifier so the speakers 4 Ohm rating shouldnt matter.
The speakers should not be plugged directly into the sound card.

Alternatively, if you are wanting to change the subwoofer speaker, you would be wise to find the resistance (Ohms) of your current speaker and use a speaker matching that.
If you can get more than 1 speaker,
2 x 4 Ohm speakers can be connected in series to provide 8 Ohms
2 x 8 Ohm speakers can be connected in parallel to provide 4 Ohms
