if i have two optical devices and two hard drives, should i put the two opticals on the first controller (ich5r) and the two harddrives on the second controller (ali m5281)

or should i alternate and have a harddrive and an optical on each controller?

i have four channels total and am employing software raid0 through windows right now on some of my drives

edit: right now, im just not using the second ali controller at all and i can feel some lag when i have high ide activity

err

i have FOUR channels though

youre saying to just keep it the way it is? with both hard drives on a channel, both opticals on a channel, and let two channels just sit there empty
