4.1 setup from 2 different sets

Hi guys,

I have a Klipsch 2.1 set and am ordering a M200 Swans set. Is there any way I can integrate these two to create a monster system? Would it require an outside amp or something else. Thanks a bunch.

the klipsch run through the woofer, right? well, instead of running the Klipsch audio cable into the front audio ports (green port) run it through the rear channel (black port? maybe?) w/e the rear channel is.

that is, as long as you have a 5.1 sound card. if you do that, itll send the rear channel sound to the klipsch.

itll work fine. again, as long as its 5.1 capable, itll work. just make sure you plug the extra speakers into the rear.

I have done it. It works.
My AL221 with some cheap pc speakers as rear speakers.
The only problem you might face is volume control, if its manually done, you need to adjust both. If its through xp, then no problem in getting the sound out.

I dunno if there is a chepaer place to buy one, but thinkgeek.com sells a USB-powered knob, which you can program it to do about anything you want, so that could possibly be one way to fix the volume issue.

Or just have a keyboard like mine that has built in volume buttons.

since they're not acoustically matched speakers, they probably won't integrate well. even mixing different types of speakers from the same brand isn't usually a good way to go. sell them both and get a real surround system.
