Just wondering if I will be able to tell a huge difference here.
I only print out pictures at 4x6 most of the time, 8x10 at the largest (pretty rare).
I could save about $80 on a camera to go toward a bigger memory card by going for a 4.0, but I dont want to sacrifice the quality, IF its going to be a large difference.
I have a 1.3MP camera now, and it takes decent shots if I am very still, so would 4.0 be good enough for what I am using it for?

yes, however its not just about 4/5 mp, its also about the physical size of the sensor. A larger sensor will have less noise, so you can get away with less megapixels. The 8mp digicams with tiny sensors produce pretty noisy photos until you scale them way down.

4mp should be fine. However, without knowing which cameras you are talking about it is difficult to say exactly.

i was looking at canon a85 vs a95
thats 1/2.7" vs 1/1.8"
so the a95 might be much better since it has a larger sensor? both use CCD sensors.

Well if it is a choice of storage over MP's, then I would go with the 4MP. I like having extra room on a CF, especially when shooting at RAW or, at the highest settings. Also I have a 3MP and, print at 8.5x11 or, standard letter size. Everyone like the prints I give them and, dont notice any real flaws in them. Im using the Cannon i960 for that.

If they were both 1/1.8" then I'd say the A85.

But since you are getting an extra megapixel AND the larger sensor, I'd definitely say go with the A95.
