My first time using triple GPUs of any kind (ATI or Nvidia). Tight fit there with the HD5870s slotted into PCI-E x16 #1 + #3 + #5 slots.

I have 1 question for you, however:

Can it play Crysis? :)
 
Ummm maybe the OP doesn't own Crysis since it's a boring and repetitive game... That's a damn sexy setup though!
 
Shouldnt the score be much higher? Or does the 285 have an advantage due to physx. I had around 38k on my triple 285s, but i just replaced them with a single 5870 last night and i do NOT plan on benchmarking at all due to disappointment. The single 5870 runs WoW better than the 285s did and should save me enough a month in electricity for a case of beer :)

Also, crysis is a shitty game.
 
Yah, I don't understand the whole $1200 in video cards to play vantage thing. Sweet setup though. If you like benching there is a Crysis bench too, :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

So he only posted Vantage benchmarks, that obviously means that is the only game he "plays"? :rolleyes:

OP only said he didn't have Crysis. I don't have Crysis either, it's a terrible game.
 
Outisde of a real nice vantage bench what exactly are you going to do with a three way 5870 setup?

How about some game benches?
 
Thumbs up on the graphics setup. I like it. What kind of temps are you getting on your gpus at those OC settings? Is it furmark stable?
Are you using water cooling for the gpus as well as the cpu??
I think the only thing that rig is missing is an SSD or two.
 
Guys point is we have gamers and we have benchers.. I'm the latter.

The whole rig setup photo are listed and shown above - open desk bench system as i haven't used a pc case in nearly 7yrs (besides my HTPC Lian Li 350).

Cards are stock hsf air cooled and temps under load range from 53C to 74C depending if i can keep cards fan speed at 100% or if it drops to 21-50% for 2nd or 3rd card somethings during 3d benching. Furmark is pointless and unnecessary stress on gpus if you're just aiming for benching clocks, as 24/7 3x hd5870 @850/1200 stock would probably be sufficient anyway.

The setup will be for motherboard, memory reviews for my site/forums i4memory.com - main focus is on memory and it's interaction with rest of the system components - so yeah if i get hold of any games I'll add those to my memory reviews for 3d end eventually.

As to vantage scores being low compared to gtx 285 could be you had physx which does boost scores on cpu end tremendously or could be 9.11 driver issues as these new 9.12 beta (8.14.10.0716) drivers are bloody awesome for 3x HD5870 Tri-CrossfireX - new personal best scores all round for me. Even managed to squeeze out a bit more on my W3570 using 29x multi instead of 27x multi and jump in vcore from 4614mhz at 1.448v to 4695mhz 1.520v.

That last picture shocked me a bit. I thought you actually got 166777 in 3dmark06. But it was just 3dmark05 score. I was kind of expecting higher in your Vantage, I've seen a Asus Mars get around 35k Performance mode and couple GTX295's get about 40ishk. But thats just with the beta drivers? Im guessing, you would prob get higher later on. I do wish you bench that in GTA IV, since the game runs like a doggy bitch, you would've had my hopes up, but still good A+++. :)
 
haha i wish 166k vantage :) Most of 40k gtx295 means 4 gpus and 4.8-5.0ghz i7 cpu clocks.. this above is 3 gpus and <4.7ghz cpu clocks :)

Still on leaked 9.12 8.14.10.0716 beta drivers. Tried higher cpu clock but W3570 seems to hang in CPU tests at 4723Mhz for Vantage but fine for 4753Mhz 3dmark05 at least (max 3dmark05 benched on W3570 HT On H20 is 4803Mhz).

My first bench with GPU clocked at 1000Mhz @1000/1275 :D

Dude with your last results, you should upload it to futuremark.

Also the GTX295's I've seen hit 40kish in 06 is not done on a i7.
