I am in information overload trying to read thru all of the threads and various recommendations.

My wife has asked me what I want for my birthdy (later this month).

I've given her my other wish list items, but would also like to consider an nVidia Surround setup.

TN Panel is ok. I can live with it as I play a lot of FPS. Budget for the 3 is likely to be around $700 (maybe a little higher, but not much).

I already have an LG 24" PVA panel that will be still be utilized, but not part of the surround package.

edit: 1080P is ok.

To be honest, i was looking to create a very similar thread. The difference being i am looking to use Eyefinity.

Do you plan on using the monitors in Landscape or Portrait mode? I am looking to use portrait which adds some expenses for a fully Adjustable stand or Monitor Arm. If you are looking for a Landscape setup there is a lot more options in the TN Category.

Looking to do Landscape.

TN is ok for me and frankly was looking to just get 3 Asus 24 TN LCD Panels. Trying to figure out which one is the pain.

Yah with landscape a monitor like this Asus

Would probably give you a really great experience. And for a decent price. Every Asus monitor on Newegg has excellent reviews so i think you would be safe with just about any monitor from them.

Awhile back i was looking at

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254048 Mainly due to price / size / ratings. But was worried about having to remove the bezels for a portrait config.

I actually have that Asus (or rather my wife does). The only thing I don't like about it is how glossy it is.

Have to agree with you regarding the Hans and portrait.

I'm actually looking at the Asus VE248H. Thin bezel and DVI inputs (required for nVidia Surround with GTX2xx Series Cards. I'm not planning to upgrade GPU until sometime next year with what will likely be the GTX5xx series cards.

Some games aren't compatible in landscape mode and will only run in portrait mode i.e. Borderlands, NBA 2K11, Bioshock 2 etc. If I had TN panels the color shifting would have been horrific and unplayable. Your going to be limited to one format when buying TN panels.

World, Is there that big of a difference in terms of Viewing angles that Using TN's will have noticable color shifts? This is something that i was originally concerned with using TN's and why i will probably be going with HP hp zr24w's.

My friend has 3 21.5 Dell TN monitors in Portrait and The color shift is very noticeable when not sitting at the desk. However once you sit down at the desk its almost non-existent. Though bigger panels may make this more noticeable.

The Asus VE248H Looks nice, Reviews are good and its a good price for Small bezel / LED monitor.

Only concern i would have is the Viewing Angles that i asked about above. Not sure how evident it will be on a 24" panel. Didn't notice any problems when test driving my friends 21.5 setup.
