Has anyone managed to setup 3way sli on a Asus Rampage Extreme IV, only thing i can see that I’m doing different from most people is using slots 1-4-7 as my cards take up 3 lanes, but I’ve been told this will work by others.

My problem is the performance is smooth with 2 cards but massive mouse to screen lag with 3 cards, this is with BF3 @ 7680x1440p.. I’ve also used Far Cry and this also drops performance with the 3rd card.. Anyone else had this problem, from what I can tell is all 3 GPUs, drop to 60-90% usage with 3 cards and jump all over the place, but with 2 cards it’s a steady 98-99% usage :s Thanks

What are your cards temps with all 3 installed after playing a game?

Between 60-70c

all 3 cards are Palit Jetstream 4GB models so the cooling on them isnt too bad.. Ive used win7-8 but both run the same, also enabled Gen3.0 and every driver i can.. if i reduce my res to 5760x1200 then BF3 will run 3way at 90-99% usage and must smoother but still 2 cards i best..

So you have anything else besides gpus plugged in like a sound card etc?

Hi, no nothing else.. I've done as much changeing around as I can but always the same.. My PSU is a xfx 1250 so power isn't a issue.. I was wondering if this is a normal problem with 3way on height res setups? Or maybe the 1-4-7 lane setup on the Asus board is the problem. Thanks

I use the 1st and last red slots and the middle black slot 16x 8x 8x is what I get in GPU.. Plus I've seen other people use the same slots in threads.. Ta

according to the manual you should use 1 2 and 4 for tri sli.
